Pregnancy can feel exciting and terrifying and physically uncomfortable all at once. Prenatal yoga and movement can help with at least one of those things (but hopefully more)! During this 4-week course, we will move into our bodies and learn about the movements that will aid our future birthing experience. Each week, we will not only find movement and focus on relief for some of those not-so-fun pregnancy aches and pains, but we will also build community with the other pregnant people who are journeying alongside you. This course is currently the only prenatal yoga offering in Wichita, KS and is safe for pregnant people in any trimester. This class will be capped at 8 registrants, so register early to save your spot!

Week 1: Anatomy of birth, posture, all the emotions of pregnancy – Thurs May 25th
Week 2: Comfort measures, back pain/glute pain, scaling pain – Thurs June 1st
Week 3: Brain waves of labor, mindfulness, fear and surrender – Thurs June 8th
Week 4: Positions for labor and birth, lower body, strength – Thurs June 22nd

Class will be led by Allison Orjala, who is Certified Prenatal Yoga instructor, Registered Yoga Teacher, and Certified Birth Doula. Allison has been practicing yoga for nearly two decades, teaching yoga for seven years, and has been devoted to prenatal education and yoga for the past three years. Allison completed her Prenatal Yoga Certification through Flow of Life Yoga based in Asheville, North Carolina. Allison is CPR certified and up-to-date as of March 2023.

4 Week Class Package: Wednesday Nights 6-7pm

Gentle yoga is a slower class with gentle movement, designed to help the body get out of the stress response, release tension, calm the nervous system, and restore an overall sense of balance to the body, the mind and the spirit. We’ll nurture the body with strength, flexibility, and balance poses, while showing ourselves compassion and kindness through meditation and breath work.

Appropriate for everyone – beginners and anyone looking for a slower yoga experience.  Expect a light-hearted practice in a welcoming environment.  Discover the yoga you didn’t know you needed.

Students will be getting up and down from the floor.  Bring a yoga mat, or borrow one of ours.
